Drumlins Brewing Company began as so many dreams do, with a series of late night conversations that at first, we thought would lead to nothing. After homebrewing for many years, Peter got tired of all of the manual work and mess in bottling his beers, and was ready to give up the hobby altogether. After a fateful conversation with a local brewery owner, who encouraged him to switch to kegging, his love of the craft was renewed. When he mentioned to Sarah, who was itching to start their own business to get away from the corporate grind, that he really wanted to own a brewery some day, they decided the best course was for him to actually get some experience in the industry to make sure that the dream was real, so he put out a ticker on one of the local job posting sites, thinking maybe he's find a job pulling pints or cleaning a taproom.
Once you put something out into the universe, you really gotta make sure that's where you want to go. Within a week of putting that ticker out, he found a post for an Assistant Brewer position, which he applied for and was offered. By the time he put in his notice at his corporate job and moved into this new world of brewing, he was there was no Brewer, so it was a baptism of fire, and he loved every minute of it. The rest, as they say, is history. We wrote, and then rewrote, and then rewwrote some more a business plan (which has been revised many more times since) that helped us to get a finalist spot in the Wayne County Kickstarter Competition sponsored by the WCEDC. And we won. That $20K grant made this dream so real as we scoured the state looking for used equipment, were lucky enough to find our amazing space with the best landloards ever, did a years worth of demolition and building, to bring us to where we are today, inviting you to come and hang out with us and drink the best beers made in Palmyra in over a century.
